Brimscombe engineers Alphamace are tasting sweet success after making the Five Valleys biggest sugar bowl.
Engineering company Alphamace Ltd recently completed a gigantic steel silo for a customer in the sugar industry.
The gigantic cylinder - the result of five weeks work - has a diameter of four metres, is 13.5 metres long and can hold more than 160 cubic metres of sugar.
An Alphamace spokesperson said the silo was nothing short of an engineering triumph for the Five Valleys.
"It is the biggest thing to come out of this area for years," she said. "A lot of people say the engineering business in this country is dead but we are choc-a-bloc at the moment. To produce something like this here in the valley is fantastic.
The end customer is the leading supplier of sugar to the UK, providing more than half the country's sugar requirements.
And the sugary silo is not the only sweet item to come out of Alphamace - they also produce chocolate tanks for the confectionery industry.
